Projecting the field of 65: Automatic bids starting to pile up

Breathing easier: San Diego State. The Aztecs worked their way onto the bright side of the bubble with their second victory of the season against New Mexico. There's no security like an automatic bid, though, and that's the only guarantee the Aztecs have right now.

Adios: Dayton. With their shoddy play down the stretch, the Flyers needed a quality win in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. It seemed as if they could get it against Xavier, a team they beat by 25 earlier this season, but a late meltdown ended their bid to upend the Musketeers. There's a slim possibility Dayton could get an at-large bid, but that's more a testament to the weakness of the bubble than the strength of their resume.

Thanks to a great Big East Tournament run, Greg Monroe and the Hoyas likely will have improved their seeding come Sunday.Superstar: Special nod to Western Michigan's David Kool for his 39-point performance in a losing effort to Akron, but the superstar of the day goes to Georgetown's Greg Monroe, who had 23 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the Hoyas's thumping of Marquette in the Big East semifinals.
