How come the Newfoundland Prime Minister is coming down to the US for heart surgery.

And this is not something new, tons of people every year leave their countries where there is nationalized health care and come to US doctors who will preform many surgeries that are now obsolete in other countries because it is just unfeasible in their system.

Costs are constantly rising for people with nationalized medicine and the things that can be done are decreasing which is why you are seeing people come to the US for many specialties.

Rich people can buy better health care in the U.S. Poor people in the U.S. are screwed if they can't talk the hospital into doing stuff for free.

Rich people are afforded alot more luxuries in every country.
I would also not say your screwed in the US if you are poor. Just because it is not specifically guaranteed under US law, does not mean the poor do not get coverage. In the US we have publicly funded health care programs to help the old, poor, disabled, and children. You know in Canada you are still screwed if you are poor, hence the prime minister would be unable to get a surgery at all if he were poor.
